James Almus Lott Jr. a native of Greenville Mississippi is the first
born son of seven siblings to Rev. James Almus Lott, Sr. and the late Deaconess Johnnie
Mae Lott. He received his elementary and secondary
education at the Norma C. O’Bannon School.
He accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior on July 16, 1965 and in 1976
he acknowledged his call in Ministry and was licensed and ordained to
preach the Gospel at Queen Street Baptist Church under the spiritual leadership
of the late Dr. O. L. Holiday of Hampton, Virginia. In 1979 he was transferred
to Nellis Air Force Base Las Vegas, Nevada where he served as the assistant
Pastor of Second Baptist Church under the leadership of Dr. Willie Davis. Bishop Lott upon completing high school entered into the United States
Air Force where he served on Active Duty for twenty years retiring with
honors. Knowing the value of the Word of God he attended various Bible
Colleges and Seminaries; American Baptist Theological Seminary; Ministerial
Institute and Bible College and Christian Life School of Theology , of
Florida Beacon College where he received a Bachelor's in Theology in
June of 1996. The
Tennessee School of Religion conferred the Honorary Doctorate of Divinity
Degree upon Bishop Lott. In June 1975, he was united in Holy Matrimony to the former Joyce M.
Hill. From this union they are parents of four (4) daughters and one
(1) son: Yolanda, Patrice, Angelia, Jan’Nice and Rico. He is also a proud
grandfather of eleven grandchildren. The Lord moved him and his family back to their home State of Mississippi,
where he continued to serve in the United States Air Force. While serving
there, he accepted his first Pastoral ship at Strong Hill Missionary Baptist
Church, West Point, Mississippi. Bishop Lott served as pastor there for
4 1/2 years. Under the leading of the Holy Spirit, traditional walls were
torn down, the Lord lead him to begin to teach on the Gifts of the Spirit
& being filled with the Spirit of God as a result, members of that
church begin receiving
the Baptism of the Holy Spirit, many souls were sat free to experience
God in the fullness. Due to his great accomplishments and his commitment to excellence his
hometown of Greenville, Mississippi awarded him with a Proclamation for
a job well done. In 1996 Bishop stepped out on faith embarked upon a city
wide campaign called 'Let's Take The City" blocking off a block of the city that was considered ("BAD") and provoking
companies like Playtex, General Foods, Procter & Gamble and others
along with local doctors to hit the streets, and make their services available
to those who normally could not afford them. Feeding and clothing hundreds,
and then presenting to them the best gift that money could not buy, Jesus
Christ. The City of Dover presented him with a Proclamation for a job
well done in advancing the things of God to better serve the community
in which he lives.
In August of 1995, Bishop Paul S. Morton Sr. the Presiding Bishop of
the Full Gospel Baptist Church Fellowship International, appointed Bishop
Lott to serve as State Overseer of the state of Delaware Full Gospel Baptist
Church Fellowship. Bishop Lott has become the pastor of pastors for
Ten (10) churches in the state of Delaware. He also served as Public Relation
for the Interdenominational Ministerial Alliance of Dover, Chaplain for
the Dover City Council and Chaplin for Kent General Hospital. |
